Hobbii is looking for a Finance Student Assistant
Copenhagen // 16 hours per week
Are you studying finance, accounting, or business administration, and do you want real responsibility from day one, room to try your hand at multiple financial disciplines, and the chance to see your work directly impact a fast-scaling international e-commerce business? Then look no further!
We are on the hunt for a Finance Student Assistant to join our dedicated Finance team at our vibrant HQ in Copenhagen NV. You will report directly to our Head of Controlling, who is ready to challenge you, mentor you, and ensure you grow from a student into a sharp financial professional.
This isn't your typical corporate finance job 🚀
You will get your own areas of responsibility, experience a wide variety of financial tasks, and learn how a modern scale-up actually operates. We provide high flexibility around your examination periods, and in return, you ensure structure and precision in our daily workflows.
Meet the team ☕🍬
Forget the stereotype of rigid, boring accountants staring blankly at spreadsheets. In the Hobbii Finance team, we are a high-performing, detail-driven group of 6 colleagues who genuinely love working together. Our open workspace is filled with collaboration, continuous sparring, and a shared weakness for sweet treats (especially when someone brings home Swedish candy). We even put up a sign in our office that reads: “Finance Team – where everyone counts.” We believe in working hard, supporting each other's growth, and celebrating our milestones at our famous themed Friday bars.
The quest & your daily impact 🗺️
As our new Finance Student Assistant, you will take true ownership of essential, day-to-day financial operations that keep our engine running smoothly across multiple countries.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Invoice Tagging & Odoo Mastery: Tag, categorize, and code incoming vendor invoices in our ERP system (Odoo), ensuring correct cost center allocation and approval routing.
Bank Payments: Prepare and execute bank payments for approved vendor bills, making sure everything is executed accurately and on time.
Expense Management (Pleo Master): Take full charge of Hobbii’s company expense platforms (Pleo DK and Pleo DE), ensuring all corporate card transactions are correctly documented and reconciled.
PSP & Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile payment service provider accounts and process batches in Odoo, proactively identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Statutory Reporting: Prepare and submit required reporting and data to Danmarks Statistik on time and in full compliance.
Month-End Close Support: Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the team during our busy month-end close, completing assigned tasks to ensure flawless and timely financial reporting.
What we’d love for you to have 🔍
We look for potential, precision, and an eager-to-learn attitude over years of corporate experience.
We imagine you have:
Education: You are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
An eye for detail: High level of accuracy is your baseline (a structured "Blue/Green" profile). You get a kick out of things matching up perfectly on the first try, and you instinctively flag discrepancies.
A proactive mindset: You enjoy structure, but you also look for the "why" behind the tasks rather than just executing blindly.
Technical skills: Good basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (you know your way around formulas and data formats). Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo) or expense platforms (Pleo) is a massive plus, but we will gladly teach you.
Language: Professional fluency in spoken and written Danish is required (due to vendor and statutory reporting). Since English is our main company language, professional fluency in English is a significant asset.
Work permit: You must hold a valid permit to work and reside in Denmark, as this role is strictly onsite at our Copenhagen office.
Perks and our promise to you 💜
Working at Hobbii should be exciting, fun, and meaningful. We achieve this by hiring talented and ambitious people who fundamentally believe we are better together.
A competitive market salary tailored to your student profile.
A hybrid-flexible working setup (around 15-20 hours a week) that respects your university schedule and exam periods.
Delicious catered lunch from Meyers, snacks, and seriously good barista-quality coffee at the office.
