Hobbii is building a global, billion-DKK e-commerce platform on Shopify Plus, and we need a Senior Shopify Developer for our purchase experience team to help us grow and continuously improve.

With our global platform successfully running on Shopify Plus, your role will be to take it to the next level. You will optimize the core shopping experience, ensuring it is scalable, high-performing, and frictionless for millions of customers across 20+ markets.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be to develop and maintain a high-quality Shopify Plus implementation that balances performance with operational efficiency.

• Build & Optimize: Develop high-quality, reusable code for our Shopify Plus platform (Liquid, HTML, CSS, Typescript) to support a seamless shopping experience.

• Global Commerce: Implement technical solutions that handle multi-market complexity, including dynamic currencies, duties, and localized payment methods.

• Leverage the Ecosystem ("Buy before Build"): We prioritize stability and speed. You will integrate robust third-party apps (such as our logistics partner Ingrid) and utilize standard Shopify features rather than building custom complexity, unless it provides a distinct competitive advantage.

• Performance & Quality: Prioritize page load speeds and Core Web Vitals to ensure high conversion rates. You will work within a professional engineering environment 

• Experimentation and A/B Testing: Implement and analyze A/B tests on key funnels (e.g., checkout, product page) to drive KPI and user experience improvements.

• Technical Ownership: Take ownership of key parts of the purchase funnel, from requirements and implementation to monitoring and iteration.

Competencies & Profile

We are looking for a collaborative senior developer who values technical excellence and sustainable architecture.

• Shopify Plus Expertise: 4+ years of experience working with Shopify Plus at scale. You understand the platform's limits and how to architect solutions that remain performant under high load. Knowledge of Shopify Theme Development and Shopify Functions is a benefit. 

• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript (Vanilla + modern frameworks), HTML5, and CSS/Tailwind. You are comfortable working with Shopify’s Admin and Storefront APIs (GraphQL/REST).

• Architectural Mindset: You are comfortable working with both Shopify Liquid and hybrid/headless components. You understand when Shopify’s native capabilities are the right choice and when a more decoupled approach makes sense, and you can clearly communicate these trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

• Integration Skills: Experience connecting Shopify with external systems such as ERPs, PIMs, and CDPs is highly valued.

• Quality Mindset: Experience working with code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines in a production environment.

The Team & Work Environment

You will join the Purchase Experience Team, reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely in a cross-functional unit of developers, designers, and product managers. We focus on the "Consideration" and "Purchase" stages of the customer journey, ensuring that every visitor has a smooth path to purchase.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Salary & Pension: We offer a salary range of DKK 60.000–70.000 per month (depending on experience and skill set), plus a competitive pension scheme.

What to Expect in the Role

In the first 3 months:

• Get deeply familiar with Hobbii’s Shopify setup, tooling, and development workflows.

• Understand the purchase funnel across markets and identify performance and UX bottlenecks.

• Deliver production code and improvements to key shopping flows.

• Build strong working relationships with product managers, designers, and fellow developers.

In the first 6 months:

• Take clear ownership of specific parts of the purchase experience.

• Drive performance and conversion improvements through technical optimization and experimentation.

• Contribute actively in architectural decisions around apps, custom code and headless use cases.

• Help raise the bar on code quality, reusability and maintainability within the team.

After 12 months:

• Be a trusted senior contributor and technical sparring partner within the Purchase Experience Team.

• Influence the long-term evolution of Hobbii’s Shopify platform across markets.

• Mentor other developers and help define best practices for scalable Shopify development.

• Play a key role in major initiatives impacting millions of customers globally.
