The quest

As Technical Team Lead for our Purchase Experience Team, you'll guide a talented group of engineers in crafting seamless, intuitive shopping experiences. From product discovery to checkout completion, you'll ensure our technical foundation supports millions of crafters in buying their perfect yarn match. Think of yourself as the master pattern designer for our technical architecture! 📐

The Road Ahead

• Lead and mentor a team of 4-6 engineers working on our core shopping experience

• Drive technical strategy for our recently migrated Shopify Plus platform

• Partner with product and design to improve conversion rates, customer satisfaction and loyalty

• Ensure scalable, performant, and secure purchase flows across web and mobile

• Champion engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement

• Bridge the gap between technical complexity and business impact

• Coach engineers to grow their skills and their impact

• Drive experimentation and measurement to learn fast

Your Mastery

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in technical leadership

• Deep expertise in e-commerce platforms

• Background in modern web technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript, etc.) & Laravel

• Experience with service architecture, APIs, and third-party integrations

• Knowledge of payment systems, inventory management, and order processing

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and grow engineering talent

• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions quickly and creatively.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritise tasks effectively, and make confident technical decisions accordingly

• Product mindset. Comfortable with metrics, experimentation and operating in an outcome-driven environment.
